Frequently Asked Questions

  • Yes! Research shows telehealth can be just as effective as in-person therapy. Many clients actually prefer it for the convenience and comfort.

For additional resources to determine if online therapy may be the best fit for you check out our resource tab HERE.

  • Scheduling is arranged seasonally (summer/spring/fall) and current openings and availability can be discussed in your free 15 minute consultation call or during your first counseling appointment.

Following your first appointment you will be scheduled through the season at hand (summer/spring/fall) to encourage consistency in your counseling goals.

  • We recommend that clients commit to weekly sessions. Clients who come weekly tend to meet & sustain their goals faster than clients that come in every other week or more irregularly. Therapy is an investment of your energy, time and money, and we want you to make the most of your investment. However, this can be tailored specifically to your needs and schedule.

  • We accept insurance for individuals in Texas only

  • The length of therapy depends on a variety of factors, including your goals, needs, treatment plan, and resources available. On average, clients are in therapy for about 6 months, though some stay for longer. For additional support read more HERE.

  • Submit the form on our website in the section listed “Ready to Begin” or reach out to by email/phone.

  • We’re happy to integrate faith into your therapy if that feels supportive for you. In our first session, we’ll talk about what that might look like. While Lauren is trained as a marriage and family therapist (not a pastor), she values how meaningful faith can be and is glad to include it in ways that fit your needs. Learn more HERE.

  • In your first appointment, Lauren will briefly review the policies you signed, explain what to expect in therapy, and answer any questions. Most of the session is spent getting to know you, your story, and what brings you in. At the end of the appointment you’ll review your goals for counseling and confirm scheduling preferences. Learn more about what to expect in your first appointment HERE.

  • We request 24 hours’ notice for cancellations to avoid all late cancellation fees.
